Attention Investor's Accountant Users

Effective September 2024, Yahoo!® (yahoo.com) has become a subscription-based service that no longer provides free historical data for indexes or securities. For this reason, Investor's Accountant can no longer freely access historical data from the internet for securities you own or benchmarks you may be using. This also affects the ability to obtain security prices prior to the current date.

Investor's Accountant 11.5 provides a feature to sign in to a Yahoo account in order to continue to access historical data. You must separately subscribe to Yahoo!® Gold service to obtain a username and password. You can then sign in through Investor's Accountant under the Preferences menu during sessions for which you need to access data. We recommend you test Yahoo's service with a single month subscription before committing to a longer term.

With Investor's Accountant 11.5 you may still be able to freely import latest prices using a Yahoo Portfolio to update your securities and build your current benchmark data forward. You can build a Yahoo Portfolio on the Yahoo Finance website and then download it as a CSV file whenever you need to update your data.

You can still import price data into Investor's Accountant from text files, and you can still add prices manually. Of course all of Investor's Accountant's functionality is still active for data currently in your database.
