Q Is Hamilton Software GIPS®-compliant?
GIPS®
(Global Investment Performance Standards) is the global standard for performance
reporting administered by the CFA Institute. If you're a professional, offering GIPS-compliant performance
is becoming increasingly important and will gain you a
significant competitive
advantage; in fact,
prospective clients will likely
expect you to be GIPS-compliant
in the coming decade. Some of our software uses GIPS calculation methods you
are required to use for compliance. Software programs (and vendors) cannot claim GIPS compliance,
only firms with assets under management can. So neither we nor our products can claim to
be "GIPS-compliant", but some of our products can help you become GIPS-compliant by
providing necessary calculation methods. Full GIPS compliance involves many requirements of which calculation methodology is only one. See our
Resources page for links
to learn more about GIPS and the CFA Institute.
Q What are the costs for Hamilton Software products and support?
There is only a one-time fee to purchase a permanent software license for any of our products. Minor updates can be downloaded from our website for free until
the next version is
released. After that, you can optionally upgrade to the latest version for an upgrade fee
(listed on our website) at any time in the future. We release new versions
approximately once a year (see product
Release Notes). We provide FREE email and telephone technical support
(see our terms), so there are no ongoing costs! You must purchase a separate license for each separate installation of a product if you will have multiple users.
Since our products are downloaded, there's no shipping cost.
Q Is there a discount for multiple licenses?
Yes. You get 20% off each additional copy of the same product purchased in the same order. Call us at 303-847-8092 for assistance with discounts.
Q How does the free trial work?
Download
and install any of our programs. Once you run the installed program,
it will be fully functional for 10 days, during which you can explore
it completely using your own data. After 10 days, the program will become
inactive, but it and all of your data will remain installed on your machine
(unless you uninstall it). If you wish to continue using it, you place a purchase order on our website and we will send you an activation code which will permanently re-activate the
program installed on your machine (or the latest version if you re-download it) and allow you to continue using your data. You can try
as many of our programs as you like, and you can test upgrades without affecting programs you've already purchased from us. You have nothing to lose!
